A popular summer resort, the Greek island of Zante – or Zakynthos to give it its full name – in the Ionian Sea attracts sun-seekers from far and wide. The island is a mix of busy beaches, quiet beach coves, wild and rugged cliffs, green forested hills and fertile plains. Inland, visitors can expect to find plenty of pretty village tavernas, where they can feast on freshly-caught grilled fish and other quintessential Greek delicacies.

There are a large number of online travel companies offering holidays to Zante – so many, in fact, that finding the best choice for you and your needs can be an arduous process. To help you navigate all of the various options, we’ve dug deep into the details and picked out what we’ve concluded are the three best options for booking yourself a memorable and great value holiday to Zante.

Thomas Cook

www.thomascook.com

One of the world’s most popular travel companies, Thomas Cook offer a huge choice of holiday options and all inclusive holidays, including trips to Zante. When we performed a number of searches for Zante holidays, we found that the Thomas Cook website has an impressive range of affordable rates. Their hotel selection is linked directly with TripAdvisor so you can take a good look at the accommodation and read guest reviews before making your choice. As for flights, the company has its own fleet of charter flights and you can also add extras onto your booking, including luggage allowance and in-flight meals. One negative side to Thomas Cook is that flexibility can sometimes be hard to come by, because they have fixed scheduled flight dates, meaning you may need to schedule your trip around the company’s most recent schedule.

Expedia

www.expedia.com

Another major player in the global travel industry, Expedia come with a strong reputation for their daily travel offers, cheap flights, car and hotel deals. The website itself is intuitive and easy to use and the booking system makes finalising your trip a quick and simple process. You can book flights, packages holidays, hotels, cars, cruises and activities to destinations across the world, including Zante, with the website’s search function prompting you to punch in the most important information first (destination, dates, number of travellers), before filtering the results for the best hotels, flights and rental cars based on your needs. The search format also features additional details about flights that you can expand to discover more about things like transfers and layover times. Another benefit of booking with Expedia is that the website lets you cancel most flights within 24 hours, although after this period you’re likely to be hit with cancellation fees.

Jet2Holidays

www.jet2holidays.com

The self-proclaimed second-largest holiday operator in the UK, Jet2holidays offer ATOL-protected package holidays and city breaks to over 60 destinations across Europe, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands, and beyond. Their search system allows you to look for accommodation based on your preferred dates, and then when you click through to the booking page it shows you the flight details and a breakdown of costs. When we searched for trips to Zante for dates across summer 2018 we found plenty of options, even during school holidays, with prices starting at around £1,500 for 7 night stays. As well as a range of board options from self-catering to All Inclusive Plus, the website offers unique hotel deals, including free child places and hotels with waterparks or theme park tickets included. They also request a highly generous deposit of just £60 per person, meaning you won’t have to find all the cash for your holiday up front. For every destination that they cater for, the site also has a detailed summary of things to do, including dining, shopping and nightlife. You can book car hire and travel insurance too.
