Spokane International Airport (GEG) offers travelers eight car rental companies to choose from. It can be tough to pick the right one, so TravelMag.com has done all the research, weighing the pros and cons of each to come up with our picks for the best. We’ve divided our favorites into three categories: most affordable, best for families and best for business travelers.

At GEG airport, rental car counters are on site in the Ground Transportation Center just beyond Baggage Claims 1–3, near Concourse A. Those arriving in Concourse B or C or collecting baggage from Baggage Claim 4 or 5 should proceed west through the airport terminal.

Our car rental company search results

TravelMag.com looked at each of the eight companies serving Spokane Airport in order to find our top choices. We analyzed rates, fleet selection, policies and user reviews to come up with the best options in each of the three categories. Our recommendations are below.

Most Affordable: Thrifty

Book at RentalCars.com

Thrifty and Dollar were head-to-head price-wise for weekly rentals on several dates across multiple vehicle classes, including economy, compact, intermediate and even small SUVs. Competitors charged only slightly more for similar vehicles, including the Kia Rio and Toyota Corolla, but for travelers looking for cheap rental cars, every dollar counts. Thrifty beat out Dollar on several dates, making it our top choice for those watching their wallets. But it wasn’t just price that tipped the scales. Users consistently bestowed high marks on Thrifty, specifically noting quick drop-off times, cleanliness and overall condition of vehicles.

Best for families: Budget

Our pick for family travelers to Spokane Airport was Budget, which offers a balance of affordability, availability and amenities. While not the lowest-priced option for larger vehicles, such as the Dodge Grand Caravan, Ford Escape or Chrysler 200, Budget was less expensive than Thrifty and Dollar and had plenty of vehicles available on several dates. Most important, though, is Budget’s commitment to safety; infant, child and booster seats are available at GEG airport, all vehicles are equipped with the LATCH system and all managers are trained on their installation. Car seats are $13 a day with a $65 rental maximum, meaning parents won’t break the bank keeping their little ones safe. Another plus: Budget is highly rated for its quick pick-up and drop-off processes, easing what can be a stressful experience in the realm of family travel.

Best for Business Travelers: Enterprise

Book at RentalCars.com

With high user ratings, top-notch customer service and efficient pick-up and drop-off procedures, Enterprise takes the top spot for best car rental company for business travelers at GEG airport. Prices on midweek rentals were on par with other companies on several dates for full-sized cars, such as the Nissan Altima and Hyundai Elantra. But Enterprise’s generous rewards program is what really makes it the best choice for business travelers. Enterprise Plus allows frequent renters to quickly accrue points — one point for each dollar — which never expire and can be used for free rentals with no blackout dates, along with free upgrades. Bonus points are earned after just five rentals within a year.
