The wide array of angling opportunities found in Cape May is almost unrivalled, with the city’s marinas perpetually lined with fishing boats, and fishing is even allowed along some of the city’s beaches, groins and jetties. But if you’re keen to cast a line from the vast expanse of the ocean, whether it’s for deep sea fishing, coastal fishing, or anything else, there are a large number of fishing trips you can book yourselves onto. We’ve picked out three of the best.

4 Hour Trolling Trip

Go trolling – a method of fishing where one or more fishing lines, baited with lures or bait fish, are drawn through the water – for Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, and more during this 4-hour fishing adventure. Hosted by Capt. Steve Beer, you’ll board his 35’ Maine Coaster that accommodates up to 6 guests. There’s an enclosed cabin with lots of seating space, a private toilet, and plenty of deck room for battling huge fish. Guests are provided with Shimano and Penn fishing equipment and bait, and if you want to keep the catch for a meal, the first mate will clean and fillet it for you free of charge. Tours start at 10am. From $649 (max 6 people)
