Car Hire at Leeds Bradford Airport: The Best Companies
by Paul Joseph | Published July 5, 2019
Located in West Yorkshire in the north of England, Leeds Bradford Airport is one of the UK’s busiest transport hubs outside of London. Large numbers of passengers pass through the airport each year, ranging from business to leisure travellers, many of whom choose to hire a car during their stay. Whatever your reason for visiting, the benefits of having our own transport are in no doubt, affording you far more freedom and flexibility than having to rely on (often costly) coaches, buses, trains and taxis.

There are several car hire companies to be found at Leeds Bradford Airport, most of which have their offices at the airport’s dedicated Car Rental Centre. To get there from the airport terminal, you can make use of a free 24/7 shuttle bus, with the bus stop just outside the main entrance. When boarding, you should let the driver know you require the Car Rental Centre, which is the first stop.
Our car rental company search results
To help make your life easier, TravelMag.com have done the research so you don’t have to. We’ve looked into all of the car hire companies based at the airport and picked out three of the best: for affordability, for families and for luxury. To help us make our choice, we focused on several factors including price, customer reviews, choice of cars and company policies. Here are the results.
During our searches for car hire at Leeds Bradford Airport, one company stood out for sheer value for money. With Easirent, we consistently found at least three cheap car hire options available for less than £100 a week, including Ford Fiestas, Ford Focuses and Hyunday i10s. Granted, customer reviews were perhaps superior with other companies, but if your priority is cheapest, then they are certainly your best bet. Easirent also have an excellent loyalty scheme that is certainly worth investing in if you’re planning to hire cars on a regular basis. Their office hours at Leeds Bradford Airport are 6am–10pm daily.
When you’re travelling as a family, it’s usually worth digging a little deeper into your pocket for something more roomy. If you’re of the same opinion, then our recommendation is Europcar. They offer a good range of larger model such as the Skoda Octavia and Vauxhall Insignia Estates, usually coming in at around the £350 per week mark. The simple online booking process with Europcar is another benefit, designed to be completed in just three easy steps. However, if you’re planning to arrive on a Saturday, be aware that their offices close at 6pm.
If you fancy cruising around the north of England and beyond in a touch of style, then of all the rental companies located at Leeds Bradford Airport, Alamo offer the best choice of luxury car hires. Among their fleet are upscale models such as the Mercedes-Benz C and E-Class, along with highly regarded SUVs such as the Nissan Pathfinder. As an added bonus, the Alamo counter is located in the main terminals, and vehicles are within easy walking distance. Office hours are 7am – 10.30pm every day of the week.
