If you’re coming to the region in pursuit of some kayaking action, there are a wide number of companies offering both kayak rentals and guided kayak tours that let you explore the area’s waterways as part of a group. You can choose from single or tandem high-end Wilderness Systems and Perception kayaks, with both “Sit-in” and “Sit-on” kayaks available depending on your confidence. The rental price includes kayak paddle instructions, PFDs, a map with recommendations, and help getting you into your kayak properly before you set off. Charleston Kayak Company
With offices in central Charleston, the Charleston Kayak Company offer kayak rentals for delivery to private homes, and launch sites around the low-country for group outings or multi-day rentals. Adventure-seekers and then free to explore the area’s beautiful waterways, including the tranquil upper Ashley River. Single kayaks are available for ages 13 and up and double/tandem kayaks are open to anyone aged 18 or over. Under 18s can also use a double/tandem kayak if they are accompanied by an adult. Kayak rental rates start at $25 per person.
