Mountain Cabin Rentals in NC: Where to Book

by Holly Riddle  |  Published September 11, 2019

North Carolina is an excellent outdoor destination for adventurous travelers. The landscape is wildly varied, so you can definitely find some city or small town across the state that matches your likes and interests. From the mountainous Blue Ridge region to the sandy shores on the Atlantic, there’s always some outdoor activity at your fingertips. Fishing? Got it. Hunting? You bet. Canoeing, kayaking and boating? There are plenty of spots to hit the water. Rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking? Look no further.

Of course, one of the best ways to see North Carolina’s natural bounty is by staying in your very own North Carolina cabin rental. A cabin, whether you’re just minutes from the bustling downtown of a destination like Asheville or Concord, or somewhere more remote, can give you all the luxury amenities you need, while still giving you all the privacy and relaxation you crave. Here are three places to start looking for your mountain cabin rental in North Carolina.

As you might expect, the majority of HomeAway’s mountain cabin rentals in North Carolina are situated in the state’s most popular mountain areas. You can find a plethora of cabin rentals on the west side of the state, throughout Pisgah National Forest, Cherokee National Forest and Nantahala National Forest. You can find cabins that are more remote around these forests, but you can also find Asheville cabin rentals as well, in case you want to blend a little mountain town fun into your woodsy retreat.

There are hundreds of cabins to pick from in western North Carolina specifically, with per-night prices starting as low as $19 and going up to $7,000. (Of course, that special $7,000-per-night property can’t really be considered a cabin, can it? It’s technically an estate that sleeps 68 people. If you’re strictly speaking cabins, logs and all, the highest you’ll pay per night will be just over $2,000.)

CAROLINA CABIN RENTALS

Book at Carolina Cabin Rentals

Carolina Cabin Rentals was founded in 2008 and is a family-ran, full-service vacation rental management company. The company serves prime North Carolina mountain destinations like Boone and Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Linville, Beach Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Valle Crucis and Jefferson. They even have a few lakeside cabins in western North Carolina as well!

To find your perfect Carolina cabin rental, you can search the website’s listings by either location or amenities. If you choose to search by location, you can then look at available rentals by your chosen arrival and departure dates, and then sort the available selections by price, bedroom and number of occupants. Keep in mind that since this is a private rental company, you’ll likely see higher prices on this site, but that with higher prices come better service and amenities.

Book at Booking.com

Booking.com offers up hundreds of North Carolina private home rentals and apartments through its search pages, but unfortunately you’ll have to do a bit of digging to find actual North Carolina cabin rentals. Booking’s private home rentals category is really a mixed bag and sometimes even includes hotel suites! If you’re fine with this, and fine with a smaller amount of North Carolina cabin rentals to choose from, you can sometimes find better deals on Booking.com, alongside desirable amenities such as free cancellations.
