A desert oasis in the middle of the Phoenix Metropolitan area, Tempe Town Lake offers a variety of exciting events and activities to enjoy all year round. Among the most popular recreational pursuits is biking, with all sides of the lake open for the public to traverse, be it on foot or on two wheels. If you’re coming to Tempe Town Lake and like the idea of exploring it by bike, here are two companies that can help.

Northshore Watersports Rental

Located just steps away from the boat dock in the Tempe Town Lake Marina, this family-owned business have been the go-to guys for water sports equipment and bicycle rentals since back in 2016. Both their men’s and women’s bike rentals are suitable for all bike paths apart from off-road mountain biking tracks. Most people who rent from here choose to bike around Tempe Town Lake, Papago Park, or the Greenway Belt, with all three paths starting very close to the store. Pricing starts at $20 for 2 hours and rises to $50 for a full day, including overnight. Electric bikes are also available.

Situated in downtown Tempe at the Veterans Way/College Ave light rail stop, right by the eye-catching Tempe Transportation Center building, this bike store offers bike rentals for as little as two hours up to a full week. Pricing starts at $25 for a standard bike for two hours and increases to $130 for seven days. Electronic bikes are slightly more expensive, at $35 for two hours and $165 for electric. Among their most popular bike rentals is the Surly’s Bridge Club 700c urban bike, a modern and versatile bike well suited to the lake trails, complete with 10-speed drive train, hydraulic disc brakes and a rear rack and trunk bag.
