Las Vegas is the epitome of the American dream at its biggest and brashest. The lights, the sounds, the sheer exhilaration of the world’s biggest playground for grown-ups are often more than enough for most people. But every now and then it is necessary to take things yet a step further. One way to do that is in a helicopter.
Here at TravelMag we want to help you take to the skies with relative ease, and that is why we have sifted through the many options for helicopter tours in Las Vegas and compiled for you a list of what we think are the best five based on price, quality of experience and more. We have even thrown in a couple of options that take in the Grand Canyon for good measure.
FROM: $75/per person
Understandably this night flight is very popular because it is both affordable and the view is impressive. See the bright lights of Sin City from the beam of the Luxor to the Bellagio all from the air while sipping a glass of sparkling wine. Included also in the price are the hotel pick up and drop off so that the tour is as simple as stepping out of the front door of your accommodation. Flights last 15 minutes.
From $385/ per person
If you’re going to go all in you might as well do it properly. There is no messing around with this one. Taking half a day, this low-level, narrated flight passes over the Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon, Lake Mead and, of course, the Las Vegas Strip. Still not enough, well this tour also throws in a 30 minute champagne picnic deep inside the Grand Canyon. Flights operate from Las Vegas airport.
From $250/ per person
Although the Grand Canyon is the primary destination for this helicopter tour, it would be impossible to miss out the Vegas Strip and Hoover Dam on the way there. The 70 minute journey passes by some remarkable natural wonders, before the most remarkable of all. Passing down into the Grand Canyon, the pilot takes the chopper down towards the Colorado River before landing for 30 minutes at Grand Canyon West airport, where the Native American gift boutique might be a good place to get some souvenirs before returning to Vegas by a slightly different route.
From $90/ per person
No other city in the world lights up quite like Vegas at night. And no means other than a helicopter tour can offer quite the same experience of those lights. Helicopter with Transport have a champagne toast before lifting you up and over the strip for a little over ten minutes, taking in the casinos, resorts and glitz of the Las Vegas Strip. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are included in the price.
From $300/ per person
As with many of the other Grand Canyon tours, the price and experience for the Las Vegas Super Saver is competitive. Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel are not included because flights depart from a helipad just near the Las Vegas Strip. The flight itself is shorter at 45 minutes, because there are no stops along the way, just a leisurely flight over the expansive natural beauty of Nevada.
