New York Knicks fans need to have the deepest wallets of all NBA supporters if they want to see their favorite team in action on home court. A recent survey from TravelMag.com has found that the cost of overnight attendance at a Knicks game to be the highest of all NBA teams.

In ranking the professional basketball teams, the survey combined ticket admission prices with the average lodging cost in each team’s home city. Average ticket prices from the past season were used in determining the rankings. TravelMag.com leveraged the statistics portal statistia.com for this information. The typical cost of a 3-star hotel near each respective team’s arena was then added to those figures to come up with a total price.
Two NY Knicks fans sharing the cost of a hotel room can expect to pay a total of $430 this basketball season, the survey concluded. That figure consists of an average per-ticket price of $122, the highest rate of all 30 NBA teams by a substantial margin, plus the $234 average price for a double room around the Knicks’ home stadium of Madison Square Garden.
The following table shows the total cost for a couple to attend a home game for all 30 NBA teams. The indicated ticket rates reflect the average price for two tickets during the past season, as established by the statistics portal statistia.com. Cost of lodging represents the average nightly rate for the cheapest available double room during the month of November. Only such hotels rated at least three stars and those being located less than one mile from the respective arenas have been taken into account.
