Ixtapa is a pure holiday destination and not the place to go to if you want to dive into local culture – but on a decent all-inclusive chances are you won’t leave the hotel anyway. What the Pacific strip of hotels, on a beautiful white sandy beach, does offer is choice. There are loads of different options for all inclusive hotels and all inclusive family resorts in Ixtapa, with a budget to suit everyone. Here is a guide to the best all-inclusive hotels in Ixtapa.

Holiday Inn Resort Ixtapa

Set on Ixtapa Beach, Holiday Inn Resort Ixtapa is a great budget all-inclusive with a vast outdoor swimming pool, spa and gym, with much of it offering impressive views of the Pacific Ocean. There are four restaurants, with a variety of meal options, including lunch and dinner at Frutas & Flores and La Isla or choose to have an á la carte dinner at La Terraza. Other options include Caña Brava, open during the day, as well as the Pool Bar and Lobby bar offering a selection of beverages. While this is no doubt a lively, well-catered for family resort there are also some chilled options for guests, including aerobics and yoga classes, as well as cycling excursions around Ixtapa. From €207.

Azul Ixtapa Grand All Inclusive Suites

This is a huge hotel that towers from the surrounding greenery – it’s certainly not pretty but the facilities are hard to argue with. The Azul Ixtapa has three pools, a massage service, hot tub, four restaurants and three bars. You even have a pool bar underneath a waterfall if you so desire. The restaurants offer Mexican specialties, Asian cuisine, Italian cuisine and an international buffet. The luxury suites have modern and crisp design, with shower and spa bath and even the budget luxury suite has a hot tub and terrace overlooking the ocean. From €306.

Pacifica Resort Ixtapa

This is a five-star luxury resort that won’t break the bank. Unlike the Azul Ixtapa, this resort is designed to blend into its surroundings, appearing more like a small village than a hotel complex. This philosophy continues inside the suites, with a homely feel and tiled floors, plus a terrace that overlooks the beach. What really sets Pacifica Resort apart from others however is the fact that it uses a cute little cable car system rather than elevators to get guests around – it’s novel, practical and fun enough to make you want to come back. From €362.
