Also known as Ministro Pistarini International Airport, or Ezeiza for short, EZE is Argentina’s main transit hub, the gateway to a cosmopolitan capital and the starting point for some very iconic driving experiences.

However, be sure you know which airport you’re arriving in, as there are two: Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE), which handles most of Argentina’s international flights, and Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP), which handles most domestic flights.

Offices for most car rental companies can be found in the arrivals area of the main terminal building. A few, including Europcar, Umove and Keddy, are located outside the terminal area but have representatives standing by to guide travelers to their kiosks.

To select the best rental car companies at EZE, TravelMag.com analyzed rates, fleet availability and customer feedback and ranked them according to three categories: most affordable, best for families and best luxury option. Here are the results.

MOST AFFORDABLE: LOCALIZA

If you’re looking for cheap car rentals at Buenos Aires International Airport, Localiza is your best option. Localiza’s fleet includes many economy vehicles and the base rate includes the collision damage waiver and theft protection. Localiza is the highest-ranked rental car company at EZE, prices are low, and the counter is easy to find just outside the arrivals area. Renters like the quick dropoff times, the helpfulness of the counter staff, the ease of locating the office and the overall condition and cleanliness of its vehicles.

BEST FOR FAMILIES: LOCALIZA

Localiza at EZE is also a great option for families. Localiza offers child seats for children under 40lbs for $7.30 USD per day, and GPS navigation united for $10.50 USD per day. If you’re planning an adventure to Argentina’s ski resorts in the Andean mountains, Localiza also has ski rack rentals for just $4.00 USD per day.

Umove and Europcar also have minivans in their fleets at prices slightly lower than Localiza’s, however, finding the representative and the time it takes to get from off the plane and into a vehicle brought these companies down in our rankings.

BEST FOR LUXURY CARS: SIXT

Book at RentalCars.com

Sixt offers one of the best selections of luxury rental cars at Buenos Aires International Airport and excellent rental terms. Sixt’s base rate includes the collision damage waiver, third-party liability, theft protection, airport charge and the vehicle licensing fee. The last two are taxes charged travelers and renters by the Argentinian government. Sixt’s fleet includes luxury editions of many familiar sedans such as the Toyota Corolla and Etios and Ford Focus. Renters commented positively on the overall condition and cleanliness of Sixt’s vehicles, as well as the ease of dropping off.

Sixt’s office is located outside the terminal, but there will be a representative on hand to meet you in the arrivals area with your reservation.
