If you are flying into Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), you have nine rental car agencies to choose from. Luckily, TravelMag.com is here for those having a hard time choosing the right company! We researched all available Detroit Airport car rental company options and chose the top option for three separate criteria: most affordable, best for business travelers, and top luxury car selection.

Arrivals will not find rental car service desks in the terminals. Known as their “rental car campus”, the Detroit Airport rental car suppliers are on Lucas Drive; not far from the airport. Each individual rental agency operates their own shuttle to and from the airport terminals for customer convenience.
Our car rental company review results
To determine which rental car companies are the best options across our three categories, TravelMag.com evaluated the fleet availability, policies, value and reviews of each DTW car rental company. And now, on to our thoroughly-researched results:
Our top pick for most affordable Detroit Airport car rental supplier turned out to be Enterprise despite the slightly lower rates Payless offers. Payless may offer the lowest rates, but customers only rate them 7.7 out of 10 stars on RentalCars.com. It may not seem very low at first, but in comparison to Enterprise’s 9.2 out of 10 stars it seems to need some work. Still, Enterprise’s DTW airport rates are on the lower end in comparison to competitors while maintaining a pleasing variety of vehicle options.
Customer satisfaction really does matter, and Alamo proves this by receiving high ratings on their service. They also offer 24-hour counter service, a convenience many other car rental agencies at the Detroit Metropolitan Airport do not offer. Our research on multiple dates even showed Alamo offers the best value on mid-size and intermediate vehicles, a popular class among business travelers. And let us not forget the Alamo Insiders rewards program, providing members with discounts and deals on their quality vehicles.
When you think “Jaguar”, the word “budget” probably does not come to mind. However, Budget car rental is consistently known for their attractive luxury car selection. We even had the option to rent the Maserati Ghibli S on some dates in our research. Of course it was expensive, but when it comes to luxury car selection the variety at other DTW rental agencies cannot compete. Their rates for non-Maserati luxury vehicles are still economical, and their service is rated well by previous customers. Alamo does have a decent luxury vehicle selection at lower rates for the penny pincher, but the fleet variety simply does not compare.
