Visit a fun-packed amusement park
The 407-acre Carowinds amusement park boasts some of the most adrenaline-pumping roller coaster collections anywhere in the world. Among them are two of the tallest steel roller coasters in North America, as well as the terrifyingly named Fury 325, a 325-foot Giga coaster that hits speeds of up to 95 mph. The venue is also home to well-equipped water park as well as several cafes.

Get acquainted with fearsome flying predators
Dedicated to the rehabilitation, research and conservation of the world’s most fearsome predators – birds of prey – Carolina Raptor Center is set within the Latta Plantation Nature Preserve, around 20 minutes by road from central Charlotte. The site is home to a total of 37 different species of native and exotic raptures, including eagles, ospreys, owls, hawks, falcons and vultures. Visitors can embark on a self-guided nature trail that winds across outdoor aviaries and offers the chance to get up close and personal with some of these majestic rulers of the skies.

Sink some points at an acclaimed taproom & brewery
The taproom at Sycamore Brewing has been serving Charlotte’s South End since 2013. Sycamore is known for their easygoing & fun atmosphere for those looking to grab a tasty pint of beer. A major event on Charlotte’s entertainments calendar, Festival in the Park has been drawing huge numbers since its debut back in 1964. Primarily a music and arts festival, it provides a platform for over 150 local and national artists to display their diverse talents, while the event routinely attracts renowned acts from the music world to come to perform here. The art on show can be bought as gifts or souvenirs and top notch food and drink provide plenty of sustenance for the energetic crowds.

Join a regional wine tour
