Ibiza Airport Car Rental: The Best Companies

by Mark Rebindaine  |  Published June 16, 2022

As one of Europe’s principal summer holiday destinations, Ibiza airport (IBZ) is extremely busy from June to September. But outside of that period, the airport is relatively calm and as a result offers some very good deals on rental cars (and hotels).

With all the major car hire companies present at IBZ Airport, the hardest part of renting a car here is actually working out which agency is offering the most suitable deal.

With this in mind, Travelmag.com has carefully researched the following categories: Most Affordable, Best for Luxury Cars and Best for Minivans to offer you the best options.

Most affordable: Budget

Renting cars in Ibiza in the high-season is an expensive business, although prices drop dramatically before and after the mid-June to mid September period. For a days rental in the height of the season (e.g. July), rental prices kick off at €160 per day dropping to €20 per day in December. After carefully researching a number of dates and lengths of stay, we deduced that Budget offers the cheapest car hire rentals. Moreover, on the popular car rental site, rentalcars.com, it has an overall customer feedback vale of 8.3/10, placing it amongst the very best. Budget rental car options include the nippy Toyota Aygo, Opel Corsa and, for those needing more space, the Seat Leon.

Best for Luxury: Sixt

Hertz and Sixt are known for having some of the best selection of premium cars and their branches at Ibiza airport are no exception. On our sample dates, Sixt had the slightly better selection with an Audi A4 kicking off at €640 per day. As a 4-door, 5-seater sedan this is an ideal car for visitors who wish to cruise the island and its notorious nightclubs (designated driver, please!). For bigger groups, they also have a VW Tiguan, an SUV that is perfectly equipped for the island’s hilly countryside. However, the vehicle that really catches the eye is their Porsche 911 Carrera Cabrio – a car that needs no introduction apart from a warning that it costs over €3000 per day to rent in high-season.

Best for Minivans: Europcar

With a number of minivans on offer and overall customer feedback that is amongst the best on www.rentalcars.com, Europcar is an obvious choice for the minivan section. Customers are particularly impressed by the speed of pick up and drop off times and the vehicle’s overall condition. From their glossy portfolio, Europcar offers a Volkswagen Touran for €573 per day in high summer. It’s undoubtedly a lot of money, but when you consider other companies are renting out vans at €1000 per day, it suddenly feels a lot more affordable. Larger groups will need to look at Click Rent’s Mercedes-Benz V Class, a vehicle that easily handles 8 passengers with enough boot space for six suitcases.
