Famed for its elegant boulevards, manicured parks, world-class arts institutions, and delectable food, it’s no wonder so many people choose to call Madrid home. Here are three great online resources for finding your perfect long term Madrid rental.
For anyone needing a living solution of anything from six months through to a year or more, long-term rentals are in ready supply in most cities around the world. These kind of apartments often come furnished, making them ideal for people relocating from overseas, and with amenities such as kitchens and living spaces. We’ve done some research and selected some of the best companies offering long-term apartment rentals in Madrid.
Founded in 2013, Blueground provide furnished apartments with flexible leases for periods of up to 11 months. Their turnkey properties span everything from studios to multi-bedroom luxury apartment rentals, and they are particularly well-known for their more high-end options. Stays of more than a month can lead to large savings, as the longer your booking, the cheaper the nightly rate comes out at. During our search for Madrid properties, we found rates starting from €1,280 per month for a one-bed apartment in the Argüelles neighbourhood near to the city centre. Overall the company lists over 150 available apartments in and around Madrid, with most dotted around the central district. Booking is easy and intuitive, and there’s a 24-hour support service accessed via a guest app.
Popular with anyone looking for furnished rentals for anything up to 11 months, Homelike offer a wide choice of apartments, including a number of flat shares, as well as co-living options. Flexible check-in and check-out dates allow guests to change their plans up to the last minute. While booking via other rental platforms can often be a touch convoluted, Homelike keep it simple. When we searched for Madrid rentals, we found over 900 properties available, with rates starting at €500 per month for a 1-bed home in the city centre. Other website perks include an instant booking filter, which lets you book directly without needing the home owner’s approval, and free cancellation up to 48 hours prior to move-in.
A well-established Madrid-based property company, Idealista are an extremely popular choice with anyone looking for a long-term rental of a year or longer. They list a wide choice of flats, penthouses, duplexes and homes across the city, with all of the security expected with a long-term lease. During our online search, the most affordable property we found was a one-bedroom apartment for rent in Madrid’s vibrant, multicultural neighbourhood of Lavapié, close to a metro station, which was available priced at €700 per month.
Founded in 2013 with the purpose of turning the traditional rentals market on its head by getting rid of all the hassles of renting, Uniplaces offer accommodation for students, young professionals, digital nomads, travellers, families and anyone in need of mid or long-term rentals. When we searched for Madrid properties, we found a huge choice available, with most clustered around the southeastern districts. Prices started at €200 for a single bedroom in a shared apartment in this area. Booking is easy too, and for added security Uniplaces wait until 24 hours after you move-in to transfer your first month’s rent to the landlord, giving you time to check everything’s to your satisfaction.
