It may be known as one of the world’s great urban metropolises, but New York’s geography also ensures it has a vibrant yachting scene. With the Hudson River and New York Harbor providing a stunning vantage point for enjoying views of Manhattan, the waters surrounding the city are regularly dotted with both group excursion vessels and privately chartered yachts.

There are a large number of New York yacht charter companies catering to yachting visitors to the area, each offering a wide range of vessels. To help you find the right yacht for your budget, tastes and needs, we’ve done some research and selected three of the best online resources for chartering in New York.
Described by Conde Naste Traveller magazine as “the Airbnb of boats and yachts”, Sailo have gained a strong reputation in the yachting world for their comprehensive and easy-to-use online charter platform. Users can choose from thousands of bareboat and crewed yachts based on dates, charter destination, budget, boat size, and user testimonials, and there’s the option to create even more customised searches, too. When we looked for yacht charters in New York, we found a total of 145 vessels available in and around the city, including two offered as bareboat, 112 motorboats, 32 sailboats, and 2 catamarans.
Boatsetter are one of the newer companies within the online marketplace for yacht charters, but have quickly become a renowned name. They bring charters, owners and licensed captains together so they can organise charters in a simple, efficient and secure way. Users can either make a booking request via the website, or message a yacht owner directly. As Boatsetter don’t directly operate or control the yachts listed, they offer reassurance through their insurance policies which obligate a minimum $500 security deposit for all charters booked. When we searched for yachts available in New York we found 71 options, including 22 sail boats and 13 vessels offered as bareboat.
Offering a wide range of private luxury boat rentals, Prestige Yacht Charters is one of New York’s most well-established sellers of memorable yachting experiences. With a fleet of over 30 high-end boats of varying specifications, their full-service packages include catering and beverages at affordable prices, complete with itemised written quotes without hidden fees, and multiple food and drink options. Each yacht features climate-controlled interior spaces with large windows, as well as ample outdoor space. Customised dining options, speciality decor, and state-of-the-art entertainment systems add to the yachting experience.
