With its long stretch of Atlantic coastline, the north-eastern U.S. state is a popular destination that attracts visitors from far and wide. For those who prefer the ‘home from home’ comforts of a private residential property over a hotel, there are many short-term rentals on offer – many of which can be found in the bustling riverside destination of Jersey City. We’ve picked out 4 of the best online resources for finding a short-let in Jersey City and across the entire state.

Booking.com

Booking.com are our favourite pick for short-stay apartments in New York for anything from a few days to a few weeks. One of the world’s biggest aggregator platforms,  while it is mainly known as a hotel booking website it also has a significant number of apartments listed. When we searched for short-stay options in New Jersey, we found over 150 available, starting at around $90 per night for a studio apartment in the South Brunswick Terrace neighbourhood of Monmouth Junction. Searching is easy too – all you need is to select for ‘apartments’ on the filter section on the left-hand page and you’ll be shown all the available apartments for your specified dates. Booking.com also offer a Best Price Guarantee as well as a dedicated reviews section.

Blueground

Founded in 2013, Blueground offer fully-furnished apartments with flexible leases for stays of one month or longer. Unlike Booking.com, stays of more than a month come with significant savings, as the longer your stay the cheaper the rates become. In New Jersey, the company currently list 40 apartments, and when we conducted a search we found prices from $2,890 per month for a one-bed apartment in Jersey City. Their professionally-managed, turnkey properties include everything from studios to one and two-bed apartments. The online booking process is easy and there’s also a 24-hour support service accessed via a guest app. It should be noted that to find properties in New Jersey, you need to select for New York metro area on the filter.

Homelike

Homelike is principally aimed at business travellers and foreigners looking for accommodation for a month or longer. The platform has a clean and easy-to-use interface with high-resolution photography and icons that clearly show amenities. Since its launch, the platform has come a long way and in Jersey City has several apartments for rent, including some private rooms for people seeking a flat-sharing arrangement. On our chosen dates, we found options dotted across the area, starting at $3,201 per month for a one-bed furnished apartment close to the city centre. For cheaper options, there are also several flat shares.
