For an animal experience on dry land, Melbourne is also home to an acclaimed zoo. Situated a 20-minute drive north of the city centre, Brevard Zoo features more than 800 animals hailing from across Florida, as well as South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. Take a stroll around historic downtown
The historic and commercial heart of the city, Downtown Melbourne is a delight to explore. Sprinkled with palm tree-lined sidewalks, charming 19th century architecture, and an eclectic range of restaurants, shops and entertainment venues, the neighbourhood is a perpetual hum of activity. As with the entire stretch of coastline, Melbourne provides easy access to some of the best beaches in the region. Accessible through nearby boat ramps and channels, Melbourne Beach offers gentle waters that are ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and paddle boarding. Boaters also flock here to immerse themselves in the unspoiled coastal landscapes, with abundant coastal vegetation adding to the idyllic scenery. Test your mettle at an action-packed theme park

Check out a prestigious art festival
If you’re visiting in April, you may find yourself in town for the annual Melbourne Art Festival. A major highlight of the city’s cultural calendar for pushing four decades, this hugely popular festival showcases work by over 200 talented artists each year, with juried awards judged by a panel of art experts, all taking place in the scenic environs of Wickham Park. Along with the prestigious artwork on display, there are also art workshops, live music, a food court and other entertainment including magician, juggling and puppetry acts.
