Although named the English Riviera with a healthy sense of tongue-in-cheek, Torquay is a popular English seaside resort with good reason. Some of the best beaches in England (it’s all relative) can be found in this region of Devon, with Torquay being especially close to Babbicombe and Oddicombe beaches. There are plenty of lovely walks along the coast from Torquay and the town itself is infused with Victorian relics, such as those found at Bygones near Torquay town centre.
Ultimately the main draw of Torquay is the sea, and hotels along the seafront are the most prized of all. We decided to trawl through each one and look at their prices, location, facilities and cleanliness to find the best; these are our favourite five seafront hotels in Torquay.
