Despite three airlines offering the popular direct route from NYC to Doha, all journeys are operated by Qatar Airways. The flights are nicely spaced out for travellers, with the first departing at 1.20 a.m., followed by 10.25 a.m. and 8.20 p.m. All flights depart from John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) and land at Hamad International Airport (DOH). The journey takes 12 hours 25 minutes in total, with a flight distance of 6,671 miles.

Qatar Airways

The Qatari government-owned airline operates three direct long-distance flights per day from NYC to Doha. The 9.20 p.m. flight looks good for those wishing to combat jet lag. If you can sleep on the 12 hour journey, you’ll arrive in Doha by late afternoon. This is a popular business class route, with tickets costing north of £8,000. An economy ticket starts at around £600. Qatar boasts excellent reviews and their economy baggage allowance is extremely generous – up to 46 kg of allowed, plus hand luggage.

Egypt Air

For those on a budget, Egypt Air is the best option. The airline offers an Economy Best Offer deal for £440, which has the same baggage allowance as Qatar. This is by far the least expensive option from NYC to Doha. However, there is just one departure per day, which includes a 3 hour and 45 minute stop in Cairo. Reviews for the airline are average. Please do note that EgyptAir does not serve alcohol on board.

Turkish Airlines

With a similar price to Qatar, Turkish Airlines’ £600 one-way flight to Doha is another good option. Turkish offers three indirect flights to Doha per day, with flights departing from JFK to Istanbul Airport (IST) before continuing on to Doha. Although, connecting times can vary between 3 and 19 hours. Reviews for the airline are excellent and passengers are particularly enthusiastic about the comfortable cabin seats, as well as the wifi, entertainment and in-flight meals. Business is also available for £4,000+.
