At one Georgia fuel stop, filling the tank can come with a full chicken meal on the side. The setup pairs drive-thru convenience with a restaurant built for much more than a grab-and-go snack.
The original location opened in Athens in late 2024 and quickly grew beyond a single stop. Chicken tenders are a major draw, but the menu stretches into breakfast and heartier meals without turning the place into a complicated detour.

This Chicken Counter Really Does Sit Beside A Marathon Gas Station
The gas station and chicken restaurant share the same Jefferson Road property. Willie B’s Chicken Coupe operates beside a JP Marathon station at the Athens location.
The Marathon side of the property operates separately from the restaurant, while Willie B’s follows its own food-service schedule. The restaurant opens at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Closing time is 9 p.m. every day at the Jefferson Road location.
The building includes a drive-thru, indoor ordering, and seating. The property previously housed a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, so the quick-service restaurant layout was already in place before Willie B’s opened.
You can fuel the car, park, go inside, or use the drive-thru without leaving the property. The restaurant sits along Jefferson Road in northwest Athens, where the fuel pumps and chicken counter operate side by side.
The Jefferson Road location is also the original Willie B’s Chicken Coupe. A second Athens restaurant now operates on Lexington Road, while a third location serves customers in LaGrange.
The Fried Chicken Tenders Come Hand-Battered Before They Hit The Fryer
Chicken tenders sit at the center of the lunch and dinner menu at Willie B’s. The restaurant serves hand-breaded chicken tenders in several meal sizes, with three-, four-, and five-tender combinations available for individual orders.
Each standard tender meal includes fries, toast, sauce, and a regular drink. The menu also includes a kids meal with two tenders, fries, toast, sauce, and a smaller drink.
Larger orders are available for groups, including twelve-, twenty-four-, and forty-tender options along with family meal combinations.
Several sauces can be added to the chicken. The selection includes Willie’s Sauce, ranch, spicy fry sauce, honey mustard, and barbecue sauce. Those same sauces can also be ordered with fries and other menu items.
The tender format stays consistent across the menu. You can order chicken by itself, as part of a meal, or in larger quantities for a group. The restaurant does not center the menu on bone-in fried chicken.

The sandwich is distinct from the chicken biscuit served during breakfast. The Coupe’wich uses a bun and belongs to the later menu, while the breakfast version places chicken on a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit.
Online ordering is available for pickup and delivery, so the Coupe’wich, tender meals, sides, and drinks can be ordered before arriving at the restaurant.

Scratch Biscuits Bring The Chicken Counter Into Breakfast Territory
Breakfast starts early at the Jefferson Road location, and biscuits are a major part of the morning menu.
The chicken biscuit pairs hand-breaded seasoned chicken with a freshly baked buttermilk biscuit. Sausage biscuits and bacon biscuits are also available, along with biscuit combinations that add egg and cheese.
The breakfast menu goes beyond biscuits. Tater tot bowls can be ordered with chicken, sausage, or bacon. Grit bowls use the same meat choices, and separate sides include grits, cheese grits, tater tots, biscuits, and sausage gravy.
Drinks offered in the morning include coffee, orange juice, milk, and other standard beverages. Breakfast meals pair selected biscuits with a side and a drink, while the bowls can be ordered as complete morning dishes.
Breakfast and later-day service operate from the same restaurant rather than separate buildings or counters. The morning menu begins when the restaurant opens, while chicken tenders, sandwiches, sides, and family meals make up the broader quick-service selection.
Breakfast begins at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 7 a.m. on Sunday. The restaurant remains open into the evening, giving early and later visitors different menu combinations throughout the day.
The Original Athens Location Opened In A Former Dairy Queen
Before Willie B’s Chicken Coupe opened on Jefferson Road, the same building operated as a Dairy Queen Grill & Chill. That Dairy Queen opened in 2014 and was connected to the Jones Petroleum property.
Willie B’s opened in the space on November 21, 2024. The restaurant was developed by William B. “Bill” Jones, CEO of Jones Petroleum and a University of Georgia graduate. Jones graduated from UGA in 1970.
The former Dairy Queen building already had indoor seating and a drive-thru window, and Willie B’s continued using those features after the restaurant changed concepts.
The opening menu centered on chicken tenders while also including breakfast service, scratch biscuits, and fresh-cut fries. Those categories remain part of the operation.
The Jefferson Road restaurant is open seven days a week, with breakfast starting earlier Monday through Saturday than it does on Sunday. The original location remains part of the same Jones Petroleum property where the gas station operates.
The restaurant has since expanded beyond the building where the concept began.
Willie B’s Started On Jefferson Road And Has Already Grown Beyond One Location
Willie B’s started with the Jefferson Road restaurant in Athens and now operates three Georgia locations.
The second Athens restaurant is on Lexington Road. It opens at 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 7 a.m. on Sunday.
Monday through Thursday service runs until 10 p.m., while Friday and Saturday service continues until 11:30 p.m. Sunday closes at 10 p.m.
The LaGrange restaurant operates on LaFayette Parkway. It opens at 5 a.m. Monday through Saturday and at 6 a.m. on Sunday, giving that location an earlier breakfast start than either Athens restaurant.
All three locations use the Willie B’s Chicken Coupe name and the same chicken-focused format. Tenders, sandwiches, sides, sauces, and breakfast items appear across the locations, while operating hours differ between the three restaurants.
Jefferson Road remains the original restaurant, while Lexington Road and LaGrange represent the expansion that followed its opening in 2024.
